ABOUT US
Story Club is an open mic for true stories. It was founded in Chicago in 2008 and is currently held in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and SW Michigan.
Story Club has been featured in Poets and Writers, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Reader, WBEZ, WKSU, Spectrum News Ohio, Cleveland.com, Crain's Cleveland, 106.5 The Lake, and were voted the Best New Bar Event by Thrillist Cleveland.

Story Club is held on the 2nd Wednesday each month at Forest City Brewery. Forest City Brewery is an reclaimed, neighborhood brewery in Ohio City featuring great drinks and tasty food.

Story Club is held on a monthly basis in the Waldorf Hall at Forest City Brewery, 2135 Columbus Dr Cleveland, OH. There is free street parking around the brewery. Forest City Brewery is a 16+ venue and offers beer, a full bar, non-alcoholic drinks, and a bangin' kitchen menu during the show.

HOW IT WORKS
- There are 4 open mic slots per show. Open mic participants are given 6 minutes (1000 words) in which to tell a true story. If more than 4 storytellers sign up we draw names for the slots.
- There are 2 featured performers for each show, who provide producers with drafts of their stories and are paid for their work. Want to be featured? Come see the show, and then email a true story (1500 words max) to [email protected] for consideration.
- The audience votes for their favorite story and the winner receives a coveted microphone trophy! The open mic performer with the most votes is invited back to be a featured (and paid) performer!
- $15 tickets before hand ($20 at the door) helps us to PAY our featured performers! We pride ourselves on being one of the best-paying shows for writers Cleveland!
- We are a non-profit and a proud fiscal sponsee of nonprofit The Reading Room CLE.
